Multiple Sclerosis Symptoms

Without any doubt, tremor is one of the most disabling symptoms, and one of the most difficult to treat. Since no amount of exercise can help with it – persons that are in pretty good strength can be seen trembling while having Multiple Sclerosis – medication is required.

Not all medications work the same, and what might work for one person might not work for another. However, there are some that proved to be very effective in treating tremor.

Propranolol (Inderal) helps essential and also cerebellar tremor. Primidone (Mysoline) is also used. Clonazapam (Klonopin) besides helping with the tremor, has a calming effect, much like its relative, diazepam (Valium).  Other medications used are ondansetron (Zofran) and buspirone (Buspar).

Usually, combinations of the above described medications are used for a lasting effect – trial and error is the general rule.
