Multiple Sclerosis Questions and Answers

Multiple sclerosis is a disease of many names, and this can be confusing. There are cases when even doctors refer to it differently, and this makes things even worse. When you hear the term chronic progressive multiple sclerosis, you might think that this is a very dangerous type of MS, and that the person suffering from it is in the worse shape ever. Wrong!

Chronic progressive multiple sclerosis is actually a very old and outdated term that was used by doctors to describe any form of progressive multiple sclerosis. Progressive multiple sclerosis are forms of this condition where the symptoms irreversibility and gradually worsen over time.

However, recent studies showed that there are more than a few differences in the different forms of this condition, and hence today’s medicine divides progressive multiple sclerosis in:
-    Secondary Progressive
-     Primary Progressive
-    Progressive Relapsing MS

All of the above forms of MS are however, manageable today. With proper medication, daily exercise and a healthy diet, MS sufferers can live almost normal lives without having their lifespan reduced by the condition itself. Needless to say, patients need to take care of themselves, and take their medication to slow down the progress of the disease.
