We know that multiple sclerosis has a multitude of symptoms that exacerbate over time and without proper medication. For the moment, medication and treatment are the only ways known to slow down the progression of the disease and minimize its effects.


To answer the question, a multiple sclerosis attack is defined as being an exacerbation of one or more MS symptoms that lasts for more than 24 hours.  This can happen at a various frequency, depending on the type of MS the person has. No matter the case, when a MS starts, the person should be aware that his is only an exacerbation and that it will pass – medication should not be discontinued and the person needs to keep calm and not to panic.
