It’s needless to say that before someone goes to a doctor, something needs to be wrong with his or her body. When it comes to MS, there are a wide variety of signs, but most of them are either ignored or seen as some other illness that has the same symptoms – the difficulty in MS diagnose is the fact that it shares several symptoms with other illnesses.
The signs range from muscle weakness and or muscle spasms, changes in sensation, difficulty moving, problems in speech, difficulties with balance and coordination, fatigue, visual problems and acute or chronic pain, to depression. However, the above mentioned signs are scarce, and the initial attacks are quite often transient, self-limited or mild, and this makes people believe that it’s just a thing they’re going through because of stress, or tiredness, or some other personal reasons, which leads to ignoring the signs.
Of course, there is also the possibility that the doctor won’t recognize these as MS and will prescribe another treatment (some rest and vitamins for the fatigue, pills for depression, painkillers for the pain, et cetera). However, the above mentioned signs and symptoms must not be ignored if they are not singular events and keep repeating.
