Multiple Sclerosis Questions and Answers

When a person is diagnosed with MS, he or she only wants to recover from it, if no cure is available for the moment. Indeed, MS is a difficult burden, that makes one’s life quality worse, and this is something that no one is happy to accept.

So, what are the steps to your recovery?

First of all, you need to think positive! This is a disease, but it’s not the end of the world, and even if for the moment there is no cure, there are lots of things you can do to minimize the symptoms, and recover from MS.

Second of all, stay informed! Currently, stem cell therapy and liberation therapy have shown great results, and right now are awaiting phase 3 trials to be approved in Canada!

Also, remember to keep your body fit and take all your medications to prevent a rapid progression of the illness. However, keep in mind that this only helps to slow down the progress of the illness - but time is needed, and you want to keep your health up, to be able to benefit from the newest therapies.  Also, always make sure to consult your doctor and always make sure to take the right dosages prescribed to your by your doctor.

You should also constantly talk with your  family – you need all the help and support you can get, and it’s very important to feel loved, to be understood and have someone close to you to get you through the hardest parts.

I am 40 and MS has slammed me hard. I have been on Avonex for 2 years and just switched to Copaxone due to continuing excerabations. The drugs do not seem to work for me much. I can only hope others experience is better.

Also, for some of us family would be the last place to seek support and understanding.

I was just recently diagnosed by my neurologist that I "appear to have MS", though I am sure that I do. And anyways, my neurologist provided me with information and a DVD about this new inject-able drug called BETASERON and it has been working for a lot of people, I had just talked to a Beta-nurse. You can talk to them and go to their website at www.betaseron.com to look up more information.
