Fertility is not affected by MS. There are, however, some things that need to be taken care of. A woman affected by MS might find it hard to insert a diaphragm, as a man affected by MS might find it hard to use a condom. In this case, the best way to deal with the problem is to ask the partner to insert the diaphragm or put on the condom.

Oral contraceptives are also a reliable and safe option, and also the intrauterine device (IUD). However, the use of the IUD can be affected by the long-term use of antibiotics and/or immunosuppressive drugs.
